Some Rolled out Whatsapp Updates

Some features are coming to WhatsApp and are already been activated for some beta testers. While the normal users will have to wait for the update to fully roll out. One of the features currently activated is the Admin superpower feature.

The new feature allows group admin to delete any message posted by any team members of the group they think it’s not okay for the public. If you are currently managing a group, you’ll definitely have some members who are fond of posting topics not relevant to the point of discussion in the group. In that, instead of removing them, you can simply delete the message

Here is how it works

To delete a message, simply press and hold on to the message you wish to delete then select Delete > Delete for everyone.

The delete for everyone feature works a bit over an hour, but now the option will be available for more than 2 days and 12 hours.

Report: Microsoft Changes Development Cycle, Could Release Windows 12 in 2024

microsoft windows 2014

According to rumors, Microsoft is implementing a new development schedule for Windows. The next major edition might be launched in 2024 if the company returns to its previous three-year cycle, which is expected to happen. If the business decides to follow its present naming pattern, this version might be called Windows 12 according to the source. Microsoft is anticipated to increase its focus on introducing new features for the current Windows version. The 22H2 upgrade for Windows 11 was just finalized by the company and is expected to be released in September or October.

The next major release of Windows, thought to be Windows 12, is anticipated in 2024, according to a report by Windows Central. According to reports, the company decided to follow this new schedule instead of releasing the Sun Valley 3 dubbed version of Windows 11 in 2023. Only a year ago, Microsoft revealed plans to offer one big feature update for Windows 11. According to the article, it now intends to release major Windows updates every three years.

Microsoft probably intends to accelerate the distribution of features for the most recent version of Windows in the interval between major releases. Windows 11 version 22H2 (Sun Valley 2), which will shortly be available, is supposed to provide new features up to four or five times a year. Most Microsoft development teams had to wait for the yearly release to introduce new features. However, these teams should now be able to reveal these features more quickly. When it combined the Taskbar enhancements with several other features earlier this year, Microsoft is said to have tested this "Moments" strategy. Now that "Sun Valley 3" is rumored to have been scrapped, it is expected to include a number of the new features in the aforementioned "Moments" update for "Sun Valley 2."

Regarding the Windows version in 2024, little is known. The developers reportedly know this version as the "Next Valley" client. This version's existence has not been officially confirmed by Microsoft.

In response to the US user data incident, TikTok's worldwide security chief is resigning.

The global chief security officer (CSO) of TikTok will leave that position and take on a new one as a strategic advisor. Concerns about the way the corporation is handling US user data led to Roland Cloutier's change in responsibilities. TikTok recently acknowledged that staff working outside the US had access to the data, despite the need for "strong cybersecurity controls and authorization" from its US security team.

The business effects of TikTok's security and trust programs will be subject to Cloutier's advice. Kim Albarella, who oversees security risk, vendor, and client assurance for TikTok, will temporarily take over as the organization's global security team leader.

In a memo to the TikTok workforce, CEO Shou Zi Chew stated, "Part of our growing approach has been to minimize concerns regarding the security of user data in the US, including the creation of a dedicated department to oversee US user data for TikTok." "Our data protection procedures will benefit greatly from this investment, which also alters the global chief security officer role's responsibilities. In light of this, Roland has decided to step down from his role as global CSO, effective September 2."

According to a TikTok spokesman, Cloutier is not in charge of the new team that looks after US customer data. Chew receives direct reports from that division. According to the spokeswoman, Cloutier's resignation was unrelated to lawmakers' worries about US data security, and the change had been planned for a few months.

In the past month, BuzzFeed News revealed that engineers from TikTok's parent firm ByteDance had repeatedly accessed private data on US TikTok users between at least last September and January. TikTok said that it was striving to remove such sensitive data from its servers and that it was currently storing all US user data on local Oracle cloud servers. This month, Chew wrote in a letter to a group of Republican senators that the business is committed to dispelling "any question regarding the security of US user data."
